I am 34 years old. I have been working with abused children for as long as I can remember. I love what I do, I couldn't imagine doing anything else but wist there wasn't the need for what I do. I sometimes feel the boys I work with are forgotten about, as if the country has more important things going on. Well this is my mission to make a change. To stand up and fight for them because I know they are worth it. I am calling on every American to stand up and fight for the children of tis country. You know the saying it takes a village to raise a child? Well it's going to take the entire country to STOP child abuse. It is an epidemic in this country. Children are being hurt inside and out. Everywhere, in all communities, in all social settings. Children are being sold for drugs their innocents exploited, FOR WHAT? I am extremely angry with this country. THE ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR comes before our children. If your child were being hurt would you say we don't have the resources to help him or her? Would you say the abuse was not sever enough? I don't think so. That is what this country is doing. And everyone knows it. Everyone knows a child has to be so abused they are almost dead before the state will take them from a home. Who is doing anything about this? DON"T TURN A BLIND EYE!!! These are all of our children. Please write letters to the leaders of this country, together we can make a difference. We have to be their voice. Please speak for them they need you. The Trickle Down Effect Ever wonder why our prisons are so over crowded? Go into them and take a survey to see how many prisoners come from abusive homes or have been abused in some way. Ever wonder why the streets of our cities have been taken over by gangs? Be brave, go onto their turf, talk to the members ask them, how many come from abusive homes or have been abused in some way. Look at the drug epidemic. What do you think feeds it? Look at the suicide ate among teens. Ever heard of a child under the age of 10 committing suicide? I have Children are cutting themselves, burning themselves, starving themselves just to feel something. Let us not forget about teen pregnancy and the number of children with STD's, this is all because of a need to feel wanted and loved. These are just some of the many things abuse can cause. The anger, the shame, the low self-esteem, not being taught right from wrong, being taught hate and hurt instead of love, trust, honesty and pride in ones self. These are the ingredients for disaster and this is what is killing our children. My words can't express the need for change. Please look into the children's eyes in this video. Please help them!!!
